Advene 3.13 is released, and for MacOS X too!

Advene 3.13 is released. The major news for this release is that Advene is again cross-platform. The MacOS X version is now available along with the Debian/Ubuntu package and the Windows installer, thanks to financial support from the junior research group “Audio-visual rhetorics of affect” situated at Freie Universität Berlin and the Hasso-Plattner-Institute for Digital Engineering, funded by the federal ministry of education and research (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung – BMBF).

The Hasso-Plattner-Institute has also contributed new media analysis plugins, with Dominant Color Extraction and Motion Dynamics Extraction. They may not be available on all platforms due to underlying components issues.

Some bugs have been fixed. Interface changes include a new shortcut in timeline (Control-Return in the background creates an annotation) and updates in the package merge interface. Relation-types can also be drag-and-dropped, as other elements, in a viewbook to display their contents in various ways.
