How was it built ?An "Emotion" schema was built, with "Joy" and "Fear" annotation types. The movie was annotated with these annotations, each one only containing some text about what is going on in the episode. The first part of the view was completely manually build: it feature texts, images from the movie and links to the movie. The second part contains two summaries of "Joy" and "Fear" annotations, using the content of the annotations as textual descriptors.

What is this view ?This view present a mini "Joy & fear" analysis of Nosferatu. Some examples of "joy episodes" and "fear episodes" are first provided, and the result of the systematic study is then presented.

Alternate joy and fear episodes.

In Nosferatu, fear is the most present emotion. But in order to make it more oppressive, Murnau included some joy scenes mostly at the beginning of his movie, generating some progress into the terror.

The movie begins with some cute scenes featuring Harker and Nina together, Renfield and Harker and Harker traveling:

This feeling of happiness progressively disappear, changing into a feeling of oppression, fear and terror. It truly begins when Harker enters the land of Phantoms. It continues with Harker discovering that Count Dracula has some bad habbits, and with Nina trying to overpass her fears. Here are some samples:
